We wanted to share some of what we saw from our yard last night as the mountain behind our house caught fire and burned. Even though we were a few blocks below the fire level, it was a pretty scary experience to see flames so close to our backyard. The pictures do not do this any justice, but I'm sure you can get the idea. I have a whole new appreciate for fire and the destruction in can do in such a short amount of time. We were without power from 5:30 pm until 3:30 am. I discovered that I am not such a prepared pioneer, and that Teegan and Trey are spoiled rotten because the hardest part of the whole night was getting them to drink cold milk instead of warm :) The boys enjoyed sitting on the roof and watching the fire with our neighbor Rocky who is just a big kid at heart.
